Video about the course
This short video explains the overall structure and approach of the courses. It includes a short summary of how to navigate the website with all the course material available for the whole sangha.
Website with all course materials
All Journey of Self-discovery course materials are available from the website (see link below and on Amruta). These include:
- overview of each course (one for Sahaja Yoga practitioners and one for course participants)
- extracts of talks by Shri Mataji
- studio recordings of the presentations including extracts of Shri Mataji’s talks and other supporting video material
- full recordings of for each live session including footsoak, presentation, questions and answers, extracts of Shri Mataji and other supporting video material, final meditation with the topic of the week interwoven into it and eventual cleansing techniques
- powerpoint presentations plus pdfs to be sent to course participants
- background material used to make the powerpoint presentations
- additional background material to be sent to the seekers
- separate recordings of an additional meditation (including footsoak) interweaving the topic of the week.
To access the Journey of Self-discovery website, Sahaja Yoga practitioners need to register just by answering a simple question. The link will soon also be available in the Nirmala Vidya app.
Our intention is not that all Sahaja Yoga collectives use the material exactly as presented. Rather we offer these materials to help in giving courses without having to ‘reinvent the wheel’ for example in spending a lot of time looking for talks and creating extracts. We also hope to show how courses could be structured.

Donate or volunteer
While our courses are always free, there are always operational costs involved in running them smoothly. And we are always in need of a range of additional support – with behind-the-scenes organisation, or to help lead a breakout room or mentor a course participant.
Please donate or volunteer your time to the Journey of Self-discovery team today!
Focus of the course
The focus lies on ‘know yourself’. The rich knowledge of Sahaja Yoga is supported by recent scientific discoveries. During each session we dive deep into the week’s topic with presentations, video excerpts from Shri Mataji’s teachings and other supporting videos. For example, we take a look at our ego and superego, the importance of our attention, vibrations, and collective consciousness.
Equally importantly, each session features two meditations. We also introduce various cleansing techniques for our subtle energy system which have many benefits for our physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.
New collaboration provides new opportunities
Thanks to a new collaboration with two other popular Sahaja Yoga courses, we can now offer additional meditation opportunities during the week. Plus meditators can also request a personal mentor to help with their meditation practice.
Self-Paced Learning Coming Soon
The Journey of Self-discovery meditation courses are also being translated into 35+ languages for learnsahajayoga.org. This means that all materials will be made available to meditators for self-paced learning, in addition to the option to attend the courses live.
International, in person and online
The meditation courses are in English and are held online and live at meditation centres in Amsterdam and other countries. We have always attracted a very international audience, with English-speaking seekers attending not only from the Netherlands and other European countries and the UK, but from around the world.
Next beginners course
New Journey of Self-discovery beginners meditation courses start twice a year in September and January.
